Route 67
Route 67 blends a mix of old and new Country Music with Southern Rock, and Oldies from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. This innovative group is suitable for shows in venues both small and large. With Many years of collective experience, the band puts on a professional show that entertains young and old alike.
Route 67 was originally the concept of Colleen Kay Moore, along with her husband Gary Moore to play music in family settings, while pulling Colleen’s brother, Randy Grogan, out of a hiatus from the music industry. Route 67 is comprised of Colleen Kay Moore lead vocals and bass guitar, Randy Grogan lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Gary Moore lead guitar and vocals, Mike Tawfall lead guitar, and Jim Gallagher drums. Each musician has had many years of musical experience.
Colleen began singing in front of live audiences with her brother, Randy in 1974. They toured the country, working shows, clubs, television, fairs, and much more. Collectively they performed with Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Marty Stuart, Lester Flatt, The Osborn Brothers, Sonny James, Webb Pierce, Bob Luman, The Kendalls and many more.
Gary Moore brings to the band his love for Southern and Oldies Rock N’ Roll, along with an appreciation for Classic Country Music. Gary played in many Rock N’Roll and variety style bands before joining The Plummer Family Country Music Show in 2001 with his wife, Colleen.
Mike Tawfall began his career at the age of five. He grew up playing guitar, doing shows and playing festivals and clubs with several bands (some of them with Colleen and Randy). In 1984 Mike left Farmington to move to Branson, to join The Plummer Family Country Music Show, and remained there for several years, as well as playing with other bands and shows during his tenure in Branson. Mike returned to Farmington in 2002, and became a founding member of Route 67.
Jim Gallagher is a veteran to the music industry as well. Jim began to play the drums at a very early age. He began playing music with Gospel and Country bands, and perfecting his craft. In 2001 Jim went to work for The Plummer Family Country Music show when they moved to Knob Lick, Missouri and built a 700-seat theatre. It was at this time Jim met up with Colleen and Gary Moore and Randy Grogan. Upon Mike Tawfall’s return from Branson, the stage was set for Route 67 to begin.
Route 67 has opened for the has opened for the following acts: Gene Watson, Ray Price, Highway 101, Asleep At the Wheel, Mel McDaniel, Ronnie McDowell, T.G. Shepard, Narvel Felts, Jack Greene (performed as back-up band), Hank Thompson (performed at back-up band), Billy Walker, David Frizzell, Earl Thomas Conlee, Little Jimmie Dickens and others.
Route 67 is a compilation of the talents of these four talented musicians/entertainers. Through the years they have continued to perform and strive for musical excellence. With the use of state-of-the-art equipment and the ability to entertain an audience, Route 67 will put on a show that pleases audiences of all ages.
